World Squash Day Brings the Global Squash Community Together

World Squash Day is a non-profit celebration of the sport of squash, bringing the global squash community together each year to showcase the game and inspire more people to pick up a racket.

Taking place on the second Saturday of October, the annual celebration aims to grow the game at grassroots level and highlight the incredible community that makes squash so special.

This year, World Squash Day took that celebration to a whole new level, bringing players from across the globe together for the world’s biggest squash match!

Over an action-packed 10 days, players of all ages and abilities joined forces as the PSA Squash Tour, Squash United Foundation and World Squash partnered with World Squash Day for an exciting global team challenge.

From PSA professionals and former legends to passionate club players and newcomers to the sport, every participant was assigned to one of two teams: Team All-Stars or Team Superstars.

With matches taking place across clubs and communities around the world, the event showcased the incredible diversity of the squash community and demonstrated how the sport can bring people together, wherever they are.

World Squash Day also provided an opportunity to raise funds for squash clubs and Rally28, helping turn the energy and excitement of the event into lasting impact for the sport.

Funds raised for Rally28 will support global grants focused on awareness and participation, squash facilities, and Squash for Development, helping create more opportunities for people to discover, play and benefit from squash around the world.

Adriana Olaya, Head of the Squash United Foundation, said:

“It was fantastic to see the squash community come together on such a huge scale, with everyone from grassroots players to professionals and legends playing their part. Events like World Squash Day show just how powerful our global community can be, and give us a brilliant opportunity to build momentum as we look ahead to squash’s Olympic debut.

“The message is simple: squash is a sport for everyone, and there is a place for everyone within our community. The support generated through World Squash Day will help us build on that momentum, creating new opportunities and helping ensure the excitement around LA28 translates into a lasting legacy for squash long after the Games.”

Zena Wooldridge, President of World Squash, said

“World Squash Day has grown into a special and unique event in the sport’s global calendar, bringing together squash communities across the world to play squash for fun regardless of their level. It also celebrates the third anniversary of squash’s addition to the Olympic programme.

To all participating players, clubs and communities across the world, thank you for joining in. It is your passion and love for the sport that helps bring the squash world together for this special celebration.

No matter your level, there’s a place on court for everyone.”

Even on the final day of the Team All-Stars vs Superstars challenge there’s time to get involved and make your match count!
